2010 USTA League Tennis Mississippi Adult Championships
If you ask anyone about the 2010 USTA League Tennis Mississippi Adult Championships, or "STATE," you quite likely may get a very quick one-word response--HOT. It was very warm on the coast, as it was around our state. Rumor has it that Saturday, June 12, was recorded as the hottest day of 2010 in Mississippi. Despite the heat eleven teams proved themselves champions of Mississippi League Tennis, and will now have the rare opportunity to advance to the "worlds largest tennis tournament," the Southern Sectional Championships. Congratulations and good luck to all the advancing champions and our 4.0 women's wildcard team as well. In late July these teams will travel to Birmingham, AL to see how they measure up to the competition from the rest of the section.
A big thank you to all the staff and especially to the volunteers that made this Adult Championship wonderful for all the players and spectators. The attention to detail and all the hard work was clearly evident as players were treated to all the wonderful amenities the Gulf Coast of Mississippi has to offer.
